Singapore is a major transit country for illegal wildlife trade, due to its strong global connectivity. Unbenounced to citizens, ivory was still sold in shops around the island from jewellery to pendants and bangles.

Only 8% of people in Singapore understand the current legislation on ivory.

Over 50% think that the trade of elephant ivory is already banned in Singapore. But the truth is, ivory rings, earrings necklaces were still sold and traded in the region.
